We've all heard the expression, "Now is a gift, that's why it's called the present." As much as I whole-heartedly believe in that, I believe our past is a gift as well. It gives us our memories, teaches us lessons, provides us with laughter...it's our story. And my story would never be complete without my brother.

Aaron and I were always more than just brother and sister; we are each other's best friend in the whole world...we are soul mates. We always knew what the other was thinking and feeling. We shared our beliefs, our lives, and our secrets. We were absolutely a package deal. When other people would talk about how close they are with their siblings, we'd kind of smile because, really, no one could be as close as the two of us. One of my best friends told her fiance, "I want our kids to be as close as Jessie and Aaron." His response was, "Don't count on it...they're not normal." haha I guess that's us: abnormally and especially close. As long as we had each other, our world was complete. Every single wonderful memory I have from childhood has my parents and my brother (partly because whenever my mom would tell him to do something, he'd say, "Essie too!). For that I will always be thankful and blessed. I am so blessed to have such an exceptionally special person in my life. This upcoming Saturday is Aaron's birthday. I will be celebrating my present and also celebrating my past. :)
Here are some highlights of the week:

All these playdates are exhuasting! |
- The girls have a busier social life than I do: THREE playdates for Hannah, one for Airy...and none for me. haha Airy was so busy she was falling asleep in the playground swing. The weather has been so nice we've been oustide a whole bunch. Oh--Josh did have Friday off so we got to go on a lunch date with Airy. So I do have a little social life!

We made this shirt! |
- This week Hannah's class was practicing colors and the kids had to wear a different color for each day of the week. On Monday they had to wear black and white. Hannah didn't have a shirt for it so she and I designed one. Little diva--I asked her if she wanted to put pink diamonds on it and she said, "Mom-ma. It's black and white day, not black, white, and pink day."
- Airy has learned how to shush people--except she doesn't think it applies to her. On Friday morning, I put my finger to my lips and said, "shhhh..." She thought it was hilarious so she started doing it to me with a little twist. She says, "Shhhh..." then yells, "DADDY!"

I hope you all are having beautiful weather like us...enjoy this Fall-ness!
